IBM opens new IT Service Command Centers in Mexico
• IBM opens two Command Centers for the delivery of technological infrastructure services in the country.
• The two IBM Command Centers will allow the clients to transform their business model allowing them to focus in their business activity.
MEXICO CITY, June 7th, 2012.- IBM (NYSE: IBM) opened today two Command Centers for IT services located within its facilities in Mexico City in order to attend better the growing needs of the clients in Maintenance, Technical Support and infrastructure strategic Outsourcing. IBM Mexico plans to invest around US$5 million in both command centers, which will allow satisfying in a better way the growing requirements for services for clients in key industries as retail, distribution, banking, among many other industries in the development markets.
According to Select (a Mexican IT Consultancy) numbers, the IT industry will grow 7% in 2012 in Mexico, a little more than twice the growth of the GDP estimated for the country during the same period.
IBM will provide the first Command Center, customized services to get valuable information that allows an effective decision-making process for the business operations of the clients. Through predictive analytics and a highly trained team of professionals, the clients will be able to anticipate to failures or potential risks in the IT infrastructure, assuring the continuity of the business and giving a fast response to the activities demanded by their competitors in the market.
The second Command Center will be focused in attending the IT infrastructure operation needs of the clients, constantly easing the maintenance and technical support services through reports via Help Desk. With this Command Center, IBM will have more capacity in support services for: data capturing devices, wireless networks, IP telephony systems, software platform and applications.
Both Command Centers for IT services will allow IBM to offer a full portfolio of services that attends the needs of the clients locally.
“IBM technological experience and its capacities through these 2 command centers will allow our users to increase their operations efficiency and focus on the key points for their business”, said Francisco Marcondes, Manager of Technology Global Services for IBM Mexico.
The Growth Markets Unit, which includes Mexico, represented 22% of IBM total revenues during 2011 and intends to contribute with 30% from here to 2015. .
